3 Tips to Optimize Your Social Media Strategy

Understanding how to maximize social media platform usage, learning to monitor the effectiveness of your posts and staying up-to-date with trends and competitors is crucial to a strong social media strategy. Here are three tips on how to improve your company’s digital marketing strategy.

#1. Prioritize Quality over Quantity

A study conducted by HubSpot found social pages with less than 10,000 followers experienced a 50% drop in engagement per post when they posted more than once per day. Both LinkedIn and Facebook recommend posting no more than three posts per week.

#2. Learn to Interpret Metrics

Learning to interpret social media metrics will enable you to adjust your posts and increase overall reach. Common areas to pay attention to are:

  • Audience Growth Rate: Calculate your new followers over a specific period of time then divide those new followers by your total number of followers. This allows you to understand how your social audience is growing.
  • Click Through Rate: The measure of visitors who’ve clicked through your social post in order to take further action (i.e. read more, purchase, etc.).
  • Engagement Rate: The measure of interaction (likes, comments, shares) your social content receives in relation to your audience.

#3. Keep up with Trends

Researching popular hashtags and including them in your posts will not only boost your digital score and establish your expertise, but will also increase your overall reach. To make sure you’re truly staying on top of current trends try joining relevant LinkedIn groups, subscribing to credible blogs and attending virtual webinars.
